Key Notes
MEPHFC design interfaces and assurance are managed across a major West London joint-venture rail project in this senior post. It leads design managers and connects construction packages, consultants and subcontractors through design verification, field change and as-built delivery. The permanent role offers hybrid working. Rail-project and construction-implementation experience are essential, alongside a relevant engineering degree or equivalent.
What You'll Work On
- Lead MEPHFC design coordination across consultants, contractors and work packages, reviewing programmes, interfaces and submissions for quality, completeness and constructability.
- Manage technical changes and the effects of evolving HS2 and Network Rail systems through the project’s approved design and assurance procedures.
- Coordinate subcontractor designs with permanent-works intent, resolving interfaces with structural, architectural and other suppliers and overseeing construction-stage design support.
- Manage field changes, design records and as-built approvals and deliver design dependencies needed for verification and activity-readiness certification at the relevant stages.
Why This Role Matters
- Rail construction packages receive assured and coordinated MEPHFC designs, helping delivery teams address interfaces before incompatible submissions affect the construction programme.
- Project handover gains controlled design records and as-built information when field changes and verification dependencies are managed through the technical-assurance process.
What They Are Looking For
- Qualification: A relevant engineering degree or higher/equivalent and chartership, appropriate professional membership or equivalent experience are essential.
- Experience: Relevant rail projects, construction implementation and work with MEPHFC designers, contractors, subcontractors and clients are essential.
- Technical: Understanding of the stated MEPHFC systems and analysis of complex delivery issues are essential.
- Preferred: NEC3, CDM 2015 and strong data/3D-model handling skills are desirable.
