Key Notes
MRTPI status, or progress towards chartership backed by significant relevant experience, is listed alongside UK planning-system knowledge and planning consultancy or local-authority experience. You’ll lead project tasks, manage junior planners, monitor contractual commitments and act as work-package manager on smaller projects. The permanent role is hybrid across Birmingham, Leeds or Manchester, normally requiring at least three office or client-site days weekly.
What You'll Work On
- Lead project tasks and manage consultants, graduates and apprentices within SYSTRA’s town-planning discipline.
- Monitor project-team performance against contractual obligations, quality, time and budget and make corrective interventions.
- Manage checking and approval against client, project and SYSTRA processes and communicate discipline requirements to delivery teams.
- Act as work-package manager on small and medium projects and support work-winning and marketing activity.
Why This Role Matters
- Client projects carry quality, time and budget commitments; work-package leadership and performance monitoring identify departures and provide a route for corrective intervention.
- Project outputs must satisfy client and SYSTRA checking processes; communicated requirements and managed approval reviews provide control over the technical work produced by the team.
