Atlas, Trainline’s Infrastructure Engineering and Tooling team, owns the systems used to deploy services, run workloads and manage platform traffic. This £60,000–£70,000 London role implements Terraform changes across AWS, applies least-privilege controls, builds Node.js or Python automation and validates changes through CI/CD. The engineer works closely with senior platform engineers, technical leads and delivery management.
What You'll Work On
- Deliver infrastructure improvements to Trainline’s platform as part of the Atlas team across service deployment, workload operation and traffic management.
- Implement reusable Terraform changes using established module patterns and least-privilege, secure-by-default controls across AWS accounts.
- Contribute Node.js or Python automation scripts and infrastructure tooling for recurring platform delivery tasks.
- Test, validate and deploy platform changes through CI/CD pipelines, raising blockers and production-readiness concerns before release.
- Coordinate milestones and requirements with Senior Platform Engineers, Tech Leads and Delivery Managers across the Atlas team.

- Technical: AWS experience, for example ECS, Lambda, IAM or CloudFront, and cloud operational/security practice are sought.
- Technical: Terraform infrastructure-change experience is sought.
- Technical: Node.js or Python scripting, automation or integration experience, or transferable experience with similar languages, is sought.
- Domain: Least-privilege and secure-by-default engineering practice is sought.
- Experience: Use of AI tools for activities such as coding, research, review or productivity is sought.
- Preferred: Git-based CI/CD, multi-account AWS, CDN, WAF or service authentication such as OIDC is helpful.
