Rail replacement and train crew transport bids are part of Arriva Road Transport Services’ growth work in this Derby-based position. Reporting to the Head of Commercial Bids, you will manage opportunities through award, build costed solutions and support a Commercial Bids Executive. The contract is permanent and hybrid; full bid lifecycle experience, proposal writing and commercial modelling awareness are required, while transport-sector experience and APMP qualifications are desirable.
What You'll Work On
- Manage bids from qualification through submission and award, coordinating content, deadlines and governance with operations, finance, legal and HR colleagues.
- Develop costed transport proposals and persuasive responses, assessing customer requirements, pricing assumptions, delivery risks and supplier input.
- Maintain the opportunity pipeline, CRM and tender portals, supporting bid/no-bid decisions and improving reusable content and case study libraries.
- Represent ARTS in client clarification meetings and hand over awarded commitments to mobilisation teams, while supporting the Commercial Bids Executive’s development.
What They Are Looking For
- Experience: Full bid lifecycle delivery in formal tender and procurement environments, with strong proposal writing skills.
- Technical: Commercial modelling or pricing awareness and strong Microsoft Office and CRM skills.
- Stakeholder: Ability to coordinate concurrent bids, engage stakeholders and mentor or support junior colleagues.
- Preferred: Transport, rail, infrastructure or managed services experience, APMP qualifications and eTendering platforms are desirable.
