What You'll Work On
- Design and improve Via’s core algorithms and business logic, taking technical problems from initial investigation through implementation in production services.
- Evaluate candidate algorithmic approaches through data, experimentation and analytical methods, assessing their suitability for the transport problems being addressed.
- Analyse large datasets and system behaviour to identify opportunities to improve algorithm performance and refine proposed technical solutions.
- Develop mission-critical services in collaboration with algorithm developers, researchers, data scientists and software engineers across the London R&D group.

What They Are Looking For
- Experience: Relevant experience includes at least three years in algorithms, data science, research or software engineering with a strong algorithmic focus.
- Qualification: An MSc or PhD in computer science, mathematics, statistics, operations research or a similar quantitative field is sought.
- Technical: Relevant capabilities include Python, production-quality code, algorithms, data structures and turning models or prototypes into production systems.
- Preferred: DevOps/cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes and cloud architecture or maintenance experience are strong advantages.
