Buckinghamshire highway construction supervision and contract compliance are the responsibilities of this Site Supervisor. You’ll inspect works, monitor contractors and verify completion across resurfacing, drainage, active travel and safety schemes. The full-time role requires significant on-site presence throughout the county. Highway supervision experience, NEC4 understanding, an HNC or HND in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience, CSCS and NRSWA Supervisor accreditation are required, alongside a full UK driving licence and CEMAR familiarity.
What You'll Work On
- Supervise highway construction and maintenance works across Buckinghamshire, checking contractor safety, programme and quality against designs, specifications, permits and method statements.
- Inspect sites and completed works, resolve non-conformances and verify measurements, testing, as-built records, health-and-safety files and completion certificates for handover.
- Support NEC4 contract administration, monitoring accepted programmes, early warnings and compensation events and validating contractor records, applications and performance indicators.
- Coordinate contractors, highway teams, utilities and local stakeholders, maintaining site diaries and inspection reports and responding to enquiries while minimising disruption to road users.
What They Are Looking For
- Experience: Highways maintenance, improvement or civil-engineering supervision and management of contractors on live highway networks.
- Domain: NEC4 understanding or qualification, local-authority highway standards, CDM and health-and-safety legislation.
- Technical: Engineering drawing, specification and programme interpretation, Microsoft Office competence and CEMAR familiarity.
- Qualification: An HNC or HND in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience, CSCS card and NRSWA Supervisor accreditation; strong communication and stakeholder management across contractors, clients and highway users.
- Eligibility: A full UK driving licence.
