It includes work-package leadership, mentoring, hardware/software interfaces and the migration of existing products onto replacement devices and documentation systems.

What You'll Work On

  • Design digital hardware and firmware for railway signalling control systems on bespoke and commercial platforms, preparing development plans and technical documentation.
  • Lead product obsolescence work, including board redesign, firmware migration and industrial PC configuration records, and move NPI documentation into the new PLM tool.
  • Define hardware/software interfaces with the software team, investigate integration problems, and support product approvals and delivery within work-package budgets and schedules.

Why This Role Matters

  • Technical: Experience or understanding of digital hardware, firmware, FPGA and CPLD devices, RTOS and Intel processor platforms is sought.
  • Technical: Knowledge of memory technologies, Spartan or Virtex FPGA families or similar devices, schematics, BSPs and PCB design is sought.
