Planning Material Coordinator

Alstom UK & Ireland Burton upon Trent, United KingdomOn-SiteFull Time

Key Notes

A five-day rolling maintenance plan, overnight depot scheduling and SAP GSI records sit at the centre of this Burton upon Trent role; Alstom does not expect candidates to have every listed skill. The permanent day-shift pattern includes weekends, with £54,792.06 including shift allowance. It calls for maintenance planning or operational support knowledge and familiarity with fleet maintenance schedules, alongside coordination of contractors and suppliers.

What You'll Work On

  • Manage short-term and five-day rolling fleet maintenance plans, including overnight depot schedules and the prioritisation of service orders and defect notifications.
  • Maintain current maintenance records in SAP GSI and analyse contractor, supplier and monitoring-system data when setting daily work priorities and risks.
  • Coordinate contractor and supplier activity against the maintenance plan, escalating delays and working with Service Engineers on the containment of in-service faults.

Why This Role Matters

  • Fleet availability depends on maintenance tasks being fitted into depot windows, with the rolling plan identifying which work and defects need attention first.
  • Contractor delays and unresolved defects change the maintenance position; SAP GSI records and escalations provide the current evidence used to adjust daily priorities.

What They Are Looking For

  • Qualification: A degree in supply chain management, logistics, engineering or a related field is sought.
  • Experience: Experience or understanding of maintenance planning, materials coordination or operational support is sought.
  • Domain: Familiarity with fleet maintenance processes or vehicle maintenance schedules is sought.
  • Technical: Microsoft Office proficiency, particularly Excel, and the ability to interpret operational data are sought.
