The role requires a qualified solicitor, barrister or CILEX Fellow with substantial relevant experience. What You'll Work On
- Manage the Major Transport Projects legal service and its advice to the authority on complex transport programmes.
- Handle a personal caseload of high-value, sensitive transport legal matters, applying specialist expertise across relevant practice areas.
- Coordinate legal support for Mass Transit and bus reform with colleagues across the authority’s services and programmes.
What They Are Looking For
- Qualification: A solicitor or barrister entitled to a practising certificate, or full CILEX Fellowship, with significant recent post-qualification experience.
- Qualification: Education or experience at master’s or postgraduate professional level, with supporting management training.
- Domain: Extensive local-government and combined-authority legal knowledge, including understanding of at least two relevant transport practice areas.
- Experience: Substantial experience leading a legal function, managing people and budgets.
- Preferred: Public-sector post-qualification experience.
