Key Notes
An existing PCV licence is required for this hub-operations role supporting Ember’s 24/7 Inverness service. The remit coordinates vehicles, drivers, routes, customers and charger maintenance, supports expansion and improves processes after disruptions. It spans the Inverness hub and central operation, includes weekend shifts and an out-of-hours on-call rota, and advertises a starting salary of £38,000 depending on experience.
What You'll Work On
- Coordinate day-to-day vehicle, driver and route activity through Ember's in-house operating systems.
- Support customers across multiple channels and keep drivers, passengers and colleagues informed when live plans change.
- Help manage vehicle and charger maintenance within the Inverness hub and central operation.
- Support the Inverness City Manager with hub operations, future-route planning and network expansion.
- Review disruptions after resolution and help design processes that prevent the same operational issue recurring.
Why This Role Matters
- Ember operates buses around the clock, so coordination decisions in the Inverness hub determine whether vehicles, drivers, charging and customer information remain aligned during live service.
- Reviews of live disruptions give the Inverness operations team evidence for preventive procedures, allowing recurring vehicle, driver or route-coordination problems to inform changes in hub processes.
What They Are Looking For
- Qualification: An existing PCV licence is required.
- Technical: Candidates must be quick to learn new technology systems.
