A professional tax or accounting qualification and broad tax experience are required for this six-month contract. You’ll manage corporation tax, VAT, employment tax and transfer pricing across Trainline’s UK and European entities, reporting to the Group Head of Tax. The London role pays £75,000–£85,000 and follows the company’s hybrid working model.
What You'll Work On
- Manage UK and European corporation tax, VAT and employment-tax compliance, coordinating submissions and related work with external advisers.
- Lead tax accounting and statutory disclosures, oversee audit provisions and manage tax journals and postings in Microsoft D365.
- Prepare cash-tax forecasts and review transfer pricing and relief claims, while improving tax controls, documentation, automation and analyst development.
Why This Role Matters
- Trainline’s UK and European entities have corporation tax, VAT and employment-tax obligations, with this in-house role responsible for coordinating submissions and tax accounting across jurisdictions.
- Finance and Treasury use cash-tax forecasts and provisions in financial planning, while the tax manager’s review connects those figures with returns, payments and group reporting.
