At Wandsworth Garage, you’ll support engineering leadership at Wandsworth Garage, keeping buses safe, compliant, reliable and ready for service. The role coordinates daily fleet availability, engineering lost mileage, workshop standards, team development, budgets, risk assessments and regulatory reporting across Operations, contractors and trade unions. Transport-engineering supervisory experience, strong technical knowledge, people leadership, budget control and a relevant health-and-safety qualification are essential; a PCV licence is advantageous.
What You'll Work On
- Manage roadworthy vehicle availability and engineering lost mileage, coordinating workshop activity with Operations against First Bus London, TfL and DVSA standards.
- Lead and mentor working charge hands and engineering colleagues, reviewing performance and organising the training required within the workshop team.
- Support engineering budgets, reporting and risk assessments, coordinating operational issues with contractors, trade unions and other relevant garage stakeholders.
