Key Notes
Hands-on structural testing is central to this full-time role at Kemble. You will own test campaigns from planning through execution and reporting, working with Design, Stress, Airframe and Certification teams. MTS FlexTest or LabVIEW knowledge and strain-gauge installation experience are essential; EASA or FAA certification exposure is desirable.
What You'll Work On
- Plan and execute structural development and certification tests, agreeing requirements and rig designs with structural and aircraft design teams.
- Configure instrumentation, acquisition and control systems, troubleshooting strain gauges and monitoring real-time data during safe execution of structural tests.
- Analyse results and produce traceable technical reports, improving repeatability and guiding junior engineers on rig setup, instrumentation and test delivery.
Why This Role Matters
- Valo structural certification requires physical evidence at component and larger scales, making controlled test execution and traceable reporting central to substantiating engineering decisions.
- Strain-gauge signals and load measurements underpin structural conclusions, so calibration and instrumentation quality directly affect the reliability and repeatability of the evidence produced.
What They Are Looking For
- Qualification: Relevant qualifications include mechanical, aerospace or related engineering degree.
- Technical: Relevant technical capabilities include MTS FlexTest and/or LabVIEW, strain gauges, load measurement and calibration.
- Experience: Relevant experience includes structural testing and development and certification test programmes.
- Preferred: Preferred attributes include EASA/FAA programmes, MATLAB, Python, nCode and relevant CAD tools.
