Service Design Manager

Indra Group UK & Ireland Redhill, United KingdomHybridContract

Key Notes

TfL Proteus changes to the Revenue Collection System move through service design, assurance and transition into live operation. The 17-month fixed-term post is advertised as hybrid in Redhill. It covers multi-supplier interfaces, acceptance criteria and operational readiness, with ITIL 4 certification and transport or ticketing-system experience listed as desirable.

What You'll Work On

  • Define and continuously improve the Service Design and Service Transition Plan for the TfL Proteus contract.
  • Lead end-to-end service designs covering change, testing, transition, decommissioning, support models and operational readiness.
  • Define service acceptance criteria, system-impact assessments and traceability from business requirements through delivery and testing.
  • Coordinate suppliers and interfacing parties and lead service assurance and Change Advisory Board activity before deployment.

Why This Role Matters

  • TfL’s Revenue Collection System needs changes to enter live service with suitable support and resilience; design assurance checks those arrangements before deployment, limiting disruption to existing services.
  • Proteus involves several suppliers and interfacing systems; agreed acceptance criteria and traceability make responsibilities and readiness requirements explicit when a change is assessed for release.

What They Are Looking For

  • Qualification: A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience, is sought.
  • Experience: Service design and transition in complex IT/integration programmes, across design, testing, change and transition, are sought.
  • Technical: Design artefacts, acceptance criteria, traceability, assurance and formal governance experience are sought.
  • Domain: Multi-supplier interfaces, non-functional requirements, service-design risk management and ITIL/ISO 20000 knowledge are sought.
  • Stakeholder: Engaging TfL, suppliers, interfacing parties and technical teams is sought.
  • Preferred: ITIL 4 certification (Foundation minimum, advanced preferred), ITSM standards familiarity and transport/ticketing, public-sector, safety-critical, integration-testing or accreditation experience are desirable.
