AWS operations span customer-facing and internal transport platforms across Linux, Windows, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, monitoring and security tooling. The role requires at least five years in platform, cloud, DevOps or site-reliability engineering, four Manchester office days weekly and existing UK work rights; sponsorship is unavailable. You’ll combine improvement projects with production support, incident management and technical mentoring.
What You'll Work On
- Design and operate highly available AWS infrastructure across Vix production and non-production transport-platform environments.
- Deliver platform upgrades, cloud migrations and infrastructure improvements using CloudFormation or Terraform.
- Build CI/CD pipelines and automate operational processes with PowerShell, Bash or Python.
- Monitor platform health, performance and security and resolve complex infrastructure or application incidents.
- Contribute to platform architecture, mentor engineers and coordinate technical work with product, development and customer-support teams.

What They Are Looking For
- Experience: At least five years in Platform Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure, DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering within production environments is required.
- Technical: AWS administration, Linux and Windows infrastructure, CloudFormation or Terraform and CI/CD pipeline experience are essential.
- Technical: PowerShell, Bash or Python automation plus networking, monitoring, logging and observability knowledge are essential.
- Domain: Production troubleshooting, security best practices and DevSecOps understanding are essential.
- Eligibility: Applicants must already have the legal right to work in the United Kingdom because sponsorship is unavailable.
- Preferred: Containers, Kubernetes or ECS, messaging platforms, Splunk, AWS operational tooling and AWS certifications are desirable.
