Key Notes
Petabyte-scale data programme delivery and TPM team development are the responsibilities of this Wayve Lead. You’ll own data-roadmap execution across ingestion, enrichment, labelling and dataset quality while coordinating ML, engineering and suppliers. At least eight years’ hands-on data-programme management and experience building a programme function are required. The full-time London role is hybrid, with technical depth in distributed data infrastructure, GPUs and large models; production coding is not expected.
What You'll Work On
- Lead the Data organisation’s programme-management function, developing TPM capability and hiring to close gaps while owning planning and prioritisation with Data leadership.
- Deliver flagship data programmes across ingestion, standardisation, enrichment, curation and annotation, coordinating platform dependencies and external supplier contributions.
- Establish planning cadences, governance and escalation routes, managing risks and removing delivery blockers across Data, ML and Engineering teams.
- Use delivery metrics and company reviews to improve data quality, throughput, cost and availability, communicating decisions and progress to senior leaders.
What They Are Looking For
- Experience: At least eight years’ hands-on data technical-programme delivery and experience building or scaling a programme function and team.
- Technical: Petabyte-scale distributed data infrastructure, ingestion and DAGs; ML, GPUs and training or inference for 500-million to 20-billion-parameter models.
- Technical: Proficiency with some or all of Databricks, Flyte, Ray, Kubernetes, Azure, Docker and Python; production coding is not expected.
- Technical: AI-agent tools such as Cursor, Claude or Codex, with modern delivery and systems-thinking capability.
- Stakeholder: Data, ML and engineering influence, people development and communication of quality, throughput and cost outcomes.
- Preferred: Large research data platforms, autonomous vehicles or robotics, and an engineering degree or engineering experience with Jira are advantageous.
