Key Notes
Modern C++ and Linux systems programming are required for this Wayve runtime-platform role. You’ll develop the shared onboard services that manage process lifecycles, communication and resources across vehicle compute, diagnosing latency and reliability problems. The full-time London role requires two days a week at King’s Cross. Production embedded, robotics or distributed-system experience is needed; QNX, ROS2, real-time systems and specialist profiling tools are advantageous.
What You'll Work On
- Build and test C++ runtime components for embedded vehicle compute, supporting application lifecycles, service management and reusable platform interfaces.
- Profile CPU, memory, scheduling, I/O and communication performance, resolving reliability and latency problems across onboard software layers.
- Develop diagnostics, logging and fleet observability for remote vehicle systems, improving crash analysis and operational visibility of runtime services.
- Improve build, deployment and troubleshooting workflows with application teams, coordinating platform roadmaps, design reviews and automated testing for onboard services.
What They Are Looking For
- Technical: Strong modern C++ and systems programming, including Linux processes, threads, memory, scheduling, networking and IPC.
- Experience: Production software for embedded, robotics, automotive, infrastructure or distributed systems.
- Technical: Debugging performance and reliability across multiple software layers, with testing, observability and clean-interface practices.
- Stakeholder: Effective collaboration with application, hardware, platform and operations teams.
- Preferred: QNX, ROS2 or similar middleware, real-time systems, embedded compute, profiling or high-throughput robotics pipelines are advantageous.
