Key Notes
Senior engineering leadership at the intersection of AI, data and model development is required for this executive position. You will lead Wayve’s Data organisation and own acquisition, selection and enrichment strategy across the learning cycle. The full-time, hybrid role offers London or Sunnyvale; computer vision, video or multimodal AI expertise is essential.
What You'll Work On
- Set AI data strategy across acquisition, discovery, curation and enrichment, linking real-world signals and model behaviour to training and evaluation priorities.
- Define fleet, OEM, partner and external data-sourcing approaches, measuring value and balancing coverage, quality, speed and cost across markets and sensor configurations.
- Lead the multidisciplinary Data organisation and coordinate AI, Validation, Product and Commercial teams, prioritising investments that deliver measurable improvements in model performance.
Why This Role Matters
- Selective discovery and enrichment bring rare driving scenarios into usable training and evaluation datasets, allowing Wayve’s model-development priorities to reflect important events within much larger data collections.
- Data comes from different vehicles, sensors and markets, requiring a coherent acquisition strategy that connects investment decisions with coverage and measurable changes in model performance.
What They Are Looking For
- Experience: Relevant experience includes significant technical-organisation leadership and large-scale data capabilities supporting model performance.
- Technical: Relevant technical capabilities include computer vision, video, multimodal AI or related perception expertise.
- Domain: Relevant domain knowledge includes data discovery, selection, curation and enrichment with commercial trade-offs.
- Preferred: Preferred attributes include embodied AI, foundation models, semantic search or fleet-scale acquisition.
