What You'll Work On
- Define Waymo’s company-wide engagement strategy for ISO, IEEE and SAE standards bodies, including governance and content accountability.
- Consolidate internal technical positions and assess how Waymo practices align with or differ from external standards.
- Train Engineering, Product and cross-functional teams on external standards landscapes, compliance objectives and agreed company positions.
- Prioritise standards working-group participation and publish internal best practices through external committees.

What They Are Looking For
- Experience: Relevant experience includes a minimum of seven years participating in standards development organisations such as ISO, IEEE or SAE, including ISO TC 22 SC 32/36/39, ISO TC 204 and SAE ORAD.
- Domain: Relevant domain knowledge includes corporate standardisation strategy experience in a highly technical or safety-critical field.
- Technical: Relevant technical skills include deep knowledge of automotive safety frameworks, verification and validation methods, and behavioural evaluation.
- Stakeholder: Relevant stakeholder skills include consensus-building between technical teams and external stakeholders.
- Preferred: Leadership positions in ISO, SAE or IEEE committees and published technical contributions are preferred.
