Fleet reliability, team development and workshop allocation are the responsibilities of this First Bus supervisor. You’ll coordinate planned and reactive maintenance, engineering records, stock and warranty claims at Slough depot. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, supervisory experience and a full clean UK driving licence are required. The permanent, full-time role is 37.5 hours Monday to Friday, paying up to £55,000 depending on experience; routine physical depot supervision indicates expected on-site attendance, with confirmation required.
What You'll Work On
- Supervise fleet maintenance with the Engineering Manager, allocating planned and reactive work and maintaining vehicle availability against service requirements.
- Induct and develop engineering colleagues and manage relevant staff reviews, coordinating absences and work allocation across the depot team.
- Support stock and warranty-claim control with Stores, maintaining accurate fleet, environmental and engineering-performance records.
- Coordinate engineering and operations on breakdowns, vehicle allocation and changeovers, improving punctuality and service reliability through effective depot supervision.
What They Are Looking For
- Qualification: NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in an engineering field.
- Experience: Previous supervision and safe workshop-equipment knowledge.
- Technical: Organisation and IT literacy.
- Eligibility: A full clean UK driving licence and confirmation of UK work rights for recruitment checks.
- Preferred: A PCV licence is desirable but not essential.
