Coach Operations Supervisor

Arriva Group Bangor, United KingdomOn-SiteFull Time

Key Notes

Operational supervision covers Arriva’s dedicated Bangor–Aberystwyth coach service, including tachograph compliance, driver hours, duty coverage, disruption, complaints and team coordination. The permanent 38-hour role pays £34,975.20 and works five days out of seven across a 24-hour operation. A valid PCV Category D licence, Driver CPC and Tachocard are essential because the supervisor may also drive when operationally required.

What You'll Work On

  • Supervise the day-to-day Bangor–Aberystwyth coach operation and coordinate service changes, diversions and disruption responses.
  • Own tachograph compliance, driver-hours monitoring and associated operational records across the coach service.
  • Manage duty coverage, holiday allocation and day-to-day driver queries so scheduled work remains appropriately resourced.
  • Investigate customer complaints and recurring service issues and coordinate corrective action with depot colleagues.
  • Escalate safety, conduct, performance and compliance concerns and undertake PCV driving when operationally necessary.

Why This Role Matters

  • The Bangor–Aberystwyth service depends on legal driver-hours compliance and complete duty coverage; tachograph oversight and resource decisions determine whether the scheduled coach operation can run safely and reliably.
  • Bangor–Aberystwyth passengers are affected by diversions and unexpected disruption; coordinating drivers and service changes helps limit the customer impact while complaints reveal recurring issues to address.

What They Are Looking For

  • Qualification: A valid PCV Category D licence is essential.
  • Qualification: Valid Driver CPC / Driver Qualification Card is essential.
  • Qualification: A valid Tachocard is essential.
  • Domain: Strong knowledge of tachograph requirements and drivers’ hours legislation is essential.
  • Experience: Previous bus, coach or passenger-transport operations experience is essential.
  • Experience: Organisational, planning, complaint-handling, operational-cover and decision-making capability under pressure are essential.
