SmartMobilityTalent

Technical Program Manager, Data Operations

Wayve London, United KingdomHybridFull Time

Key Notes

Annotation requests run from intake and estimation through supplier delivery and QA, requiring technical judgement across data science, ML and engineering. The full-time role supports external annotation suppliers and internal self-service users, with an emphasis on resolving competing requests and delivery blockers. London is one of the advertised locations, with office, workshop and home working under Wayve’s hybrid policy.

What You'll Work On

  • Own data and annotation requests from intake and definition through estimation, scheduling, execution and QA.
  • Coordinate engineering and ML estimation, trade-offs and realistic delivery commitments.
  • Manage annotation suppliers, label guides, task launches, quality assurance and delivery tracking.
  • Improve intake, ticketing, reporting and self-service workflows while removing delivery blockers.

Why This Role Matters

  • Data and annotation requests need agreed scope, estimates and QA; coordinating these stages makes delivery dependencies and unresolved inputs visible to Wayve’s engineering and ML teams.
  • External annotation suppliers receive label guides, launch support and quality checks, giving internal teams a basis for assessing whether delivered work matches the requested task.

What They Are Looking For

  • Experience: Relevant experience includes approximately 3+ years in programme delivery or operations coordination.
  • Stakeholder: Stakeholder management across ambiguous or competing requests is sought.
  • Technical: Fluency with engineering, data science and ML teams, and reasoning about data and pipelines, is sought; production coding is not the focus.
  • Experience: Risk, issue and dependency management, with systems and product thinking, is sought.
  • Preferred: Data operations, annotation or labelling workflows, or external supplier management is desirable.
  • Preferred: Jira or similar tools, workflow automation, and ML/data pipeline, autonomy or robotics exposure are desirable.
