SmartMobilityTalent

Senior Software Engineer, Cloud, Simulation

Wayve London, United KingdomHybridFull Time

Key Notes

Wayve’s Simulation Technology team combines classical simulation with machine-learned graphics to develop and evaluate driving intelligence at high fidelity and scale. The role requires 5+ years designing and programming software, strong Python, workflow-orchestration or data-intensive application experience, and deep user-level Kubernetes knowledge. The London role is full time under Wayve’s hybrid policy, with core working hours.

What You'll Work On

  • Shape the technical roadmap for robot-emulator fidelity, visual fidelity or efficient scaling within Wayve’s simulation platform.
  • Own simulator KPIs for cost, service-level objectives, throughput and latency and lead technical discussions on simulation-platform direction.
  • Integrate simulated-robot components and machine-learned graphics into simulation services used by Wayve engineering teams.
  • Build production-quality Python software and align implementation dependencies with robotics, research, platform and data teams throughout delivery.

Why This Role Matters

  • Wayve’s driving-intelligence development uses the simulation platform to represent real-world conditions at high fidelity, making simulator accuracy and scale part of model evaluation.
  • Robot-emulator and machine-learned graphics components meet in one platform, so dependency and KPI decisions determine its cost, throughput and latency for users.

What They Are Looking For

  • Experience: 5+ years of industry experience designing and programming software is essential.
  • Technical: Python and user-level Kubernetes are essential, alongside workflow orchestration such as Airflow, Dagster or Flyte and/or data-intensive application development.
  • Technical: Systems- and data-oriented design, including reusable software and performance trade-offs, is essential.
  • Preferred: Autonomous vehicles, robotics, scalable simulation or data-intensive workloads are desirable.
  • Preferred: Cloud-GPU inference, NeRF, Gaussian Splatting or generative-AI graphics experience is desirable.
  • Preferred: Go or C++ proficiency is desirable.
