Extensive delivery of complex, high-value projects is essential for this strategic rail-project role. You’ll lead multidisciplinary teams, governance, risk, change, commercial performance and senior stakeholder reporting. The full-time position is hybrid from Cheadle with regular travel to Sheffield and Manchester; applications close 27 September 2026.
What You'll Work On
- Take overall responsibility for complex project outcomes across safety, time, cost and quality and provide direction to multidisciplinary leadership teams.
- Apply project governance and controls to rail delivery, covering planning, scheduling, risks, opportunities, changes and the allocation of resources.
- Manage customer, supplier and internal stakeholder relationships and report project performance clearly to senior business leaders.
- Protect revenue, cash flow and EBIT performance while coaching less-experienced project managers and strengthening delivery capability.

- Experience: Applicants need strong project governance, planning, scheduling, risk and change-control capability with commercial and financial acumen.
- Stakeholder: Applicants need ability to analyse performance and cost variance, negotiate with stakeholders and work across engineering, finance, commercial, supply-chain and operations functions.
- Preferred: Rail or technical-engineering experience and IPMA Level C or B, or equivalent professional accreditation, are desirable.
