Key Notes
Mapping experience is essential: applicants need at least one year with geospatial data, map matching or routing, alongside three years in backend services, or five for senior candidates. You will build Go services and improve performance under load. Salary is £90,000–£120,000, with visa and relocation support advertised. Full-time working is inferred from the five-day pattern.
What You'll Work On
- Build mapping and journey-tracking backend services in Go, introducing microservices and migrating components from the existing architecture.
- Translate product needs into technical designs with product managers, designers and data scientists working on mapping services.
- Optimise backend latency and reliability so mapping and tracking systems remain responsive when handling heavy demand.
What They Are Looking For
- Experience: 3+ years in scalable backend services, or 5+ for senior candidates, plus at least one year in mapping-related work.
- Technical: Relational and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL, MongoDB or Redis, and message brokers such as RabbitMQ or Kafka.
- Technical: Engineering fundamentals; applicants without Go can interview in their strongest language.
- Preferred: OSRM, C++, OpenStreetMap or practical navigation-system knowledge.
