Release Manager

Wayve London, United KingdomHybridFull Time

Key Notes

Release-cycle ownership combines decisions on which issues and changes ship with process improvements across engineering, product and operations. Five-plus years in release management, software engineering or a related field are essential, alongside SDLC, hardware-configuration, CI/CD and multi-platform release knowledge. This full-time London role is hybrid and works with SRE and DevOps on testing, automation and release tooling.

What You'll Work On

  • Own release planning and coordination, maintaining predictable shipment rhythms while adapting priorities.
  • Govern issue and change decisions, balancing release stability, speed and business goals.
  • Identify release bottlenecks, establish dashboards and KPIs, escalate gaps and drive process improvement.
  • Partner with SRE and DevOps teams to shape CI/CD, testing, automation and release-tool requirements.
  • Act as the central source of release status, risks and timelines and run post-release reviews through corrective action.

Why This Role Matters

  • Wayve’s fleet operations and product development depend on stable software releases; decisions about which changes ship balance release speed against that stability.
  • Engineering and product teams can trace release status, risks and timelines through one central contact, while post-release reviews turn identified gaps into corrective action.

  • Technical: Strong SDLC and release-management knowledge, including testing strategy, system integration, branching and versioning, is essential.
  • Technical: Configuration-management knowledge, including hardware configurations, is essential.
  • Technical: CI/CD and automation-tool experience, such as GitHub, Buildkite or CLI tooling, plus multi-platform release experience, is essential.
  • Experience: Strong release trade-off judgement, problem solving and communication with engineers and leadership are essential.
