Key Notes
Station and infrastructure contracts across the c2c route are the remit of this London quantity surveying post. It combines Cost Value Reconciliation, life cycle costing, tender work and contract administration within an asset team covering stations under a 99-year lease. A quantity surveying and commercial management degree and relevant cost or commercial project experience are sought for this full-time, on-site role.
What You'll Work On
- Measure and value station and infrastructure works, preparing contractor accounts and undertaking cost estimates, budget forecasts and life cycle cost analysis.
- Negotiate and administer contracts, variations and change controls, advising project teams on contractual issues and the resolution of claims or disputes.
- Prepare tender documents with Supply Chain, support contract execution with Legal, and report project costs, progress, risks and performance to senior management.
Why This Role Matters
- c2c's stations are held under a 99-year lease, so life cycle costing informs investment decisions whose financial consequences extend beyond an individual construction project.
- Infrastructure contracts create payment, variation and dispute exposures, with valuations and contract administration providing the basis for accounts and commercial decisions across the route.
What They Are Looking For
- Qualification: A degree in quantity surveying and commercial management is sought, alongside membership or progress towards RICS, ICES or CIOB membership.
- Experience: Cost management, estimating or commercial project delivery experience in construction, infrastructure or rail is sought.
- Technical: Knowledge of contract administration, procurement routes and frameworks such as JCT or NEC is sought.
- Technical: Ability to prepare and analyse CVRs, RAMS and life cycle costs is sought, with Microsoft Office and relevant cost software such as CEMAR.
