Product Designer

Wayve London, United KingdomOn-SiteFull Time

Key Notes

Operator tools and guest-facing interfaces support Wayve’s development and demonstration fleet, combining screens, sound, haptics and lighting. A portfolio showing strong interaction and visual/UI craft is essential, alongside product ownership from discovery to delivery and practical user research. The full-time London role describes hybrid working and considers accessibility, user context and technical constraints throughout design.

What You'll Work On

  • Research operators, guests and customers through observation and usability testing.
  • Translate user needs, automated-driving technology and operational constraints into clear journeys, workflows and interactions.
  • Design integrated in-vehicle experiences across screens, sound, haptics and lighting using inclusive and accessible principles.
  • Produce flows, wireframes, prototypes, production-ready designs, interaction states and edge-case specifications.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering and Operations through implementation review and contribute reusable vehicle-product patterns.

Why This Role Matters

  • Wayve’s trained operators and guests encounter the same complex automated-driving technology with different levels of experience; research-led, accessible interfaces make its behaviour easier to understand.
  • Wayve’s vehicle-product interfaces can share reusable interaction patterns; detailed design and implementation review keep agreed states and edge cases visible to Engineering.

What They Are Looking For

  • Experience: A portfolio demonstrating strong interaction and visual/UI craft, plus product ownership from discovery through validation and delivery, is essential.
  • Experience: Planning and conducting user research or usability testing and applying findings is essential.
  • Technical: Strong wireframing and prototyping skills, including choosing an appropriate fidelity, are essential.
  • Domain: Understanding inclusive and accessible design across different needs and contexts is essential.
  • Stakeholder: Collaboration with product managers and engineers and clear explanation of design decisions are essential.
  • Preferred: Real-time or physical-system interfaces, constrained environments, operational tools, generative-AI or coding tools, and automotive interface experience are desirable.
