Key Notes
Finance transformation ownership covers implementation of a new finance system, from process mapping and configuration through data migration, UAT, reporting and user adoption. The nine-month fixed-term role pays £50,000–£58,000, requires at least two office days per week and involves travel between Manchester and London. Relevant expertise includes substantial finance-systems implementation experience, finance-process knowledge and accounting qualification or equivalent experience; no closing date is published.
What You'll Work On
- Lead implementation of Transport Focus’s new finance system with Finance, IT and external implementation partners.
- Translate finance requirements into system solutions and oversee configuration, testing, data migration and user acceptance testing.
- Review finance processes and identify opportunities to improve controls, automation and reporting.
- Cleanse, validate and reconcile financial data and define dashboard and management-information requirements.
- Produce process documentation and training materials and support colleagues through system adoption and post-implementation improvement.
Why This Role Matters
- Transport Focus’s new finance system will replace existing ways of managing financial information, so configuration, migration and testing decisions determine whether data and controls carry into the new environment correctly.
- Finance teams depend on reporting and management information after implementation, making requirements design and data reconciliation material to whether the new system produces usable financial outputs.
What They Are Looking For

- Qualification: Qualified or part-qualified accountant status such as CCAB, CIMA or ACCA, or significant equivalent experience, is sought.
- Domain: Knowledge of finance processes, financial controls and management reporting is sought.
- Stakeholder: Experience working on project teams in a systems-implementation or change environment and communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders is sought.
- Technical: Analytical skills and advanced Excel capability are sought.
- Preferred: Knowledge of reporting tools, business-intelligence platforms or ERP systems is advantageous.
