Key Notes
A new London engineering hub gives this director responsibility for Wheely’s platform architecture, real-time ride systems and engineering approach to privacy. You will lead an existing engineering group and shape hiring and collaboration with the main Cyprus hub, including regular travel there. The role requires experience designing backend systems from scratch and managing engineers; the stated pattern is four London office days and one remote day, with visa sponsorship available. This is a full-time role.

- Improve end-to-end real-time behaviour for driver location, dispatch and ride state under unreliable or restricted network conditions.
- Lead engineering privacy design and develop the internal agent harness that enables teams to automate workflows across the business.
- Build the London engineering hub through hiring, team leadership and decisions about work allocation with the established Cyprus engineering team.

- Experience: Experience designing backend systems from scratch and delivering real-time systems at consumer scale.
- Experience: Several years managing engineers, including accountable hiring and performance decisions.
- Eligibility: Be based in London or willing to relocate, and undertake regular travel to the Cyprus hub; visa sponsorship is available.
