From feasibility to detailed design, you’ll lead highway and development-infrastructure designs from feasibility through detailed design, covering roads, drainage and statutory approvals. The role combines technical delivery with budgets, resourcing, client management and support for less-experienced engineers. Substantial consultancy experience, a civil-engineering degree and chartered status or progress toward it are sought. This is a permanent hybrid London role.
What You'll Work On
- Lead highway and drainage packages from feasibility through detailed design, controlling project finances, resources, programme commitments and technical outputs.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary design and statutory approvals, addressing construction interfaces and maintaining client relationships throughout the assigned highway engineering commission.
- Manage engineers and technicians delivering the packages, guiding junior colleagues and reviewing their contribution to the team’s design work.

What They Are Looking For
- Experience: Substantial highways or development-infrastructure work in a consultancy environment.
- Qualification: MEng, MSc or BEng in civil engineering.
- Qualification: Applicants need chartered ICE or CIHT status, or active progress toward qualification.
- Technical: Strong knowledge of highway standards and AutoCAD, Civil 3D or comparable design tools.
