Key Notes
Within tunnelling and underground-space projects, you’ll lead tunnelling and underground-space work packages, approving concepts, calculations, drawings and technical reports while supervising engineers and signing design certificates. The remit includes soil and rock tunnels, portals, shafts and utility tunnels for design-and-build infrastructure. Extensive UK and Ireland tunnel-design experience is sought. This is a permanent hybrid role in London, Reading or Birmingham.
What You'll Work On
- Lead tunnel and underground-space design, approving calculations, drawings and specifications for soil and rock tunnels, portals, shafts and caverns.
- Check feasibility, outline and detailed design reports and oversee the production of engineering solutions for the assigned underground structures.
- Maintain CDM compliance and discipline standards, and contribute technical input to tenders and relationships with contractors delivering underground works.
