Key Notes
Strong C++, C# and Python capability is essential for this senior transport-software role. You’ll shape the architecture and delivery of Paramics Discovery, review code, mentor developers and improve testing and deployment practices. The permanent role is hybrid and can be based in six UK offices.
What You'll Work On
- Design and develop simulation-software features for Paramics Discovery using C++, C# and Python across desktop, data and modelling components.
- Set technical direction, review code and architecture, and translate transport-modelling requirements into maintainable designs across the Paramics Discovery product.
- Improve automated testing, continuous integration, deployment and data workflows, including SQL-backed components, debugging practices and repeatable software releases.
- Mentor developers and collaborate with consultants, product stakeholders and users on releases, defects and product evolution.
Why This Role Matters
- Paramics Discovery is used to model transport networks, making software correctness and stability relevant to the scenarios that clients can examine when assessing proposed changes.
- The product’s development roadmap involves modelling and customer requirements, with architecture and testing decisions affecting how new capabilities are incorporated into supported software releases.
What They Are Looking For
- Technical: Applicants need advanced professional experience with C++, C# and Python, plus strong object-oriented design and core software-engineering fundamentals.
- Experience: Applicants need evidence of designing, testing and debugging complex applications and working with version control such as Git.
- Experience: Applicants need ability to review code, explain architectural decisions and mentor other developers in a collaborative product environment.
- Preferred: Experience with SQL, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, infrastructure as code, AWS, Azure or GCP, regulated environments or cross-language integration would be advantageous.
