What You'll Work On

  • Inspect, test, maintain and repair electrical and mechanical infrastructure, including 750V DC substations and low-voltage installations.
  • Diagnose faults across switchgear, control equipment, lighting, tram-stop electrical assets and single- and three-phase supplies.
  • Deliver planned and reactive maintenance and support testing and commissioning activities on operational transport infrastructure.
  • Maintain accurate records of infrastructure maintenance and repairs within the asset-management system.
  • Participate in infrastructure on-call arrangements, responding to emergencies, service-affecting failures and unplanned out-of-hours repairs.

What They Are Looking For

  • Qualification: Relevant qualifications include a recognised electrical qualification at Level 3 or above.
  • Experience: Relevant experience includes industrial electrical-maintenance experience; tramway or railway experience is explicitly not essential.
  • Technical: Relevant technical skills include electrical fault finding, inspection and testing across low-voltage systems, three-phase supplies, switchgear, control panels or similar assets.
  • Technical: Relevant technical skills include ability to read electrical schematics and technical documentation.
  • Eligibility: Eligibility criteria include a full UK driving licence.
  • Preferred: 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, Authorised Person training, HV/LV switching, traction power or substation maintenance, SCADA, IOSH and asset-management-system experience are desirable.
