What You'll Work On
- Lead development and implementation of the statutory Local Transport Plan for York and North Yorkshire.
- Direct supporting strategies across bus, rail, active travel, highways, connectivity and transport decarbonisation.
- Advise the Mayor and Combined Authority leadership on long-term transport policy and investment priorities.
- Lead relationships with local authorities, Government, operators and other regional transport stakeholders.

- Stakeholder: Engaging and negotiating with government, funding bodies, local authorities and strategic partners is essential.
- Technical: Evidence-led policy, financial and budget management, consultation, and evaluation of investment and business cases are essential.
- Qualification: Literacy, numeracy and ICT qualifications or equivalents, a relevant degree/specialist qualification or equivalent experience, and transport accreditation or comparable role experience are required.
- Preferred: Local transport priorities, mayoral powers, Combined Authority experience, multimodal prioritisation, relevant professional membership and continued professional development are desirable.
