What You'll Work On

  • Lead Nexus’s procurement strategy across approximately £150 million of annual activity, reviewing progress against savings targets and corporate objectives.
  • Oversee major goods, services and works procurements, and approve procurement recommendations, governance papers and award reports.
  • Advise senior leaders on business cases and investment decisions, reviewing contract terms and risks with Legal colleagues.
  • Develop category strategies, negotiate commercial terms and manage strategic supplier relationships around performance, sustainability and future requirements.
  • Lead procurement-team development and change programmes, embedding Procurement Act 2023 requirements and reviewing processes for compliance and value for money.

  • Experience: Significant experience developing procurement strategies aligned with corporate priorities, including category management and strategic sourcing, is sought.
  • Experience: Commercial acumen with a record of achieving cost reductions and savings targets without compromising delivery or grant recovery is sought.
  • Experience: Experience leading procurement-change programmes and developing high-performing teams is sought.
  • Stakeholder: Strategic procurement advice to senior leaders and strong influencing, communication and partnership-building skills are sought.
